What We Do

ShopCart.ng connects student buyers with student sellers on the same campus. Whether it's a textbook a graduating final-year student wants to pass on, a budget phone for a new "Jambite", hostel snacks delivered between lectures, or a small fashion business run from a 200-level student's dorm room — ShopCart is where Nigerian campus commerce happens.

Why We Exist

Nigerian university students are a massive economic community — millions of buyers and thousands of micro-sellers across 400+ accredited tertiary institutions. Yet most of that commerce happens through informal WhatsApp groups, hostel notice boards and Twitter (now X) threads — places where it's easy to get scammed, prices are inconsistent, and there's no protection if a transaction goes wrong.

We built ShopCart to give Nigerian students the same buying and selling experience that a Lagos professional gets on Jumia — but designed specifically for the realities of campus life: same-school sellers, student budgets, peer-to-peer delivery and verified student identity.

How We Keep It Safe

Every transaction on ShopCart.ng is protected by an escrow-style payment system. When a buyer pays for an item, the funds are held by ShopCart and only released to the seller after the buyer confirms the item was delivered as described. Sellers who try to scam don't get paid. Buyers who try to game the system don't get away with it.

We verify sellers with NIN and student credentials before they can list, and our support team mediates disputes within 3 business days. The full process is documented on our Returns & Refunds page.
