Every seller on ShopCart.ng is verified with their National Identity Number (NIN) and student credentials before their first listing goes live. Unverified accounts cannot sell. This eliminates anonymous scammers and ensures every seller is a real, traceable Nigerian student.

When you pay for an item on ShopCart.ng, your money is held securely in escrow — not sent directly to the seller. Funds are only released after you confirm the item arrived as described. If something goes wrong, you open a dispute and our team steps in.

If a transaction goes wrong, you can open a dispute from your order dashboard. Our support team reviews evidence from both parties and issues a resolution within 3 business days. Sellers who are at fault do not receive payment. Buyers who are at fault do not receive a refund.

After every transaction, both buyers and sellers can leave ratings and reviews. Seller reputation scores are publicly visible on their storefront. Buyers can see how many transactions a seller has completed and what other students said — before committing to a purchase.

ShopCart.ng does not sell, share, or monetise user data. Your personal information — email, phone number, NIN, address — is used only for platform operations and verification. We never share your data with third-party advertisers.

ShopCart.ng prioritises sellers on the buyer's own campus, reducing delivery risk. When a buyer and seller are on the same campus, they can arrange safe in-person handover at a public location — the campus gate, library, or student union building.
