4. How to Lock In Your Registration Without Errors
- Step 1 — Change of Institution if needed: If you scored above a school's cut-off but didn't list them as first choice, visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre immediately and process a Change of Institution before touching their portal.
- Step 2 — Pay via Remita only: Log into the university's official portal, generate your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code, and pay the ₦2,000 statutory fee. Never pay into a personal bank account.
- Step 3 — Upload O'Level to JAMB CAPS: Ensure your WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results are fully uploaded to JAMB CAPS. An "Awaiting Result" status on your profile after the school's deadline triggers automatic disqualification.
- Step 4 — Verify and print: Cross-check your name, date of birth, and LGA on the portal against your NIN file exactly. Submit and print your Screening Pass in colour.
5. What to Do If Your School Hasn't Released Yet
If your target institution — UI, UNILAG, OAU, or others — hasn't dropped its form yet, don't relax. Use this window to review your core subjects, secure official past question materials, and monitor portal movements weekly. Once the window opens, registration periods are short and close without warning.
See our individual guides for UNILAG Post-UTME 2026, UI Post-UTME 2026, and OAU Post-UTME 2026 for detailed breakdowns of what to expect when their forms drop.
